YOUTH SOFTBALL TEAMS FOR ALL AGES AND ABILITIES
Lakewood Girls Softball was created to provide girls in Lakewood, Colorado a place to join a team, stay active, and develop great friendships. Girls who register to play in our program will learn the skills necessary to succeed in softball, as well as in life. We believe girls just starting out deserve the same opportunity to grow in this wonderful sport as much as girls who have been playing for a long time. We strive to provide a positive and safe environment for girls to participate in friendly competition.
2024 GSLJC Spring/Summer League
Registration for our next season will begin January 1, 2024. Returning players will have until February 1, 2024 to register if they would like to be guaranteed a spot on their returning team. After February 1, 2024, new players will begin filling in spots. New teams will form if we have enough girls register for an age. These spots fill up quickly, so register early.
***Girls Softball League of Jefferson County will be returning to grouping players primarily by the grade they should be entering the following school year. Please see below.
WE PROVIDE DIFFERENT LEVELS OF SOFTBALL
T-BALL AND COACH PITCH: The purpose of T-Ball and Coach Pitch is to introduce the girls to the fundamentals of fastpitch in a fun and supportive environment. Ages 4-5 and beginners at age 6 play T-Ball. T-Ball plays with less girls on a team. There are no outfielders. This allows more girls to make plays in the field. 6-7 year olds play Coach Pitch. If a batter does not hit the ball off the coach, a tee will be placed and the batter gets to hit off of it. Ages are based on birth years as of January 1st.
8U and 9U: Players at this level play Modified Kid Pitch. The games include live pitching from players, but there are no walks. If a batter is walked, the coach comes in and pitches to their player. This ends up in either a hit or an out. This speeds up the game for the girls and allows them to make plays in the field.
10U-14U: This age lets the girls continue to develop their skills and focus on having fun. No previous experience is required to play and we have had several girls start and flourish at this age.
16U: This age is offered if there are enough teams in the Jefferson County to support it. Please reach out to us if you have someone interested at this age. We have connections to other organizations if we do not have enough to play.

Important Dates...
February 1, 2024 - returning players must register by this date to secure a spot on their team from last year.
End of March 2024 - Practices will begin for most teams.
April 2024 - Save the date for our annual Jeffco Softball Spring Clinic
End of April 2024 - Game schedule should go live.
May 2024 - Picture Day - all players receive one free self portrait and team picture combo. Talk to your coach about scheduled time.
Early May 2024 - Opening Day for tee ball and coach pitch
May - July 2024 - Season for 8U-14U
TBD 2024 - Day at the Rockies - 1:10 pm game time - $20 Upper Level, $30 Lower Level - more information to come
Early July 2024 - End of Season Tournament - over the weekend
There will be no games Memorial Day and July 4th.

Lakewood Girls Softball needs your help. We strive to keep our player fees and operating costs as low as possible. However, every year there are players who would love to play softball, but can’t afford the cost of player fees. Our King Soopers Community Rewards program is a fundraiser set up to allow Lakewood Softball to offer full or partial scholarships to deserving players.
